If you’re ready to order your next vehicle on the scheme, you can head to your account's ‘New car application’ area and follow the on-screen instructions to check and update your personal details and allowance information. Please note that this feature is currently only available to customers without an appointee.

Don’t forget, there are many other ways you can use your online Motability Account, including:

Can I return my Motability car early?

You would have to call us to discuss. If you cancel any Motability agreement more than 3 times in any 7-year period, it could affect your eligibility.

Cancelling your lease also means you can't get a Good Condition Bonus. This is the scheme's way of saying thank you for returning cars with no damage.

What's the milage allowance on a Motability car?

With Motability cars, you get a mileage allowance of 60,000 miles over 3 years. If you go over, the extra miles will be charged at 5p a mile.

If you've driven fewer than 15,000 miles at the end of your agreement, you could apply to keep your car for 1 or 2 more years and get a 20,000 mileage allowance each year.

Can I use the car for work?

A Motability vehicle is covered under the Certificate of Motor Insurance for social, domestic and pleasure purposes, this includes travelling between your home and work.

What happens at the end of the lease?

You have 3 options:

  • • Choose your new Motability car for the next 3 years

  • • Keep your car longer if you're eligible for a low mileage lease extension

  • • Return the car and start getting your mobility allowance again

Are Electric vehicles available on the Scheme?

Yes. We have a range of Electric Vehicles available. A few things to consider, when looking to lease an Electric Car:

-          The range, differs on every Electric Vehicle, make sure to choose a car that is suitable for your typical journeys. A Motability specialist at Hendy will be able to help you with this!

-          You will need to have access to a charge point, so you can charge your vehicle.

If you have off-street parking, Motability will arrange and cover the standard cost of a home charge point, and its installation. If you do not have access to off-street parking, don’t worry, Motability will give you access to the BP Pulse network, with over 9,000 public charge points!
