Maserati Unveils Limited Edition MC20 Icona and MC20 Leggenda to Celebrate Racing Legacy

In a grand celebration of its illustrious racing heritage, Maserati has unveiled two special editions: the MC20 Icona and MC20 Leggenda. These limited series commemorate the 20th anniversary of Maserati's triumphant return to the racing scene in 2004 with the iconic MC12, following a 37-year hiatus.

The MC12, initially launched as a road vehicle and subsequently becoming a cornerstone in GT championships, inspired the creation of the Maserati MC20 super sports car. This vehicle, entirely crafted in Italy, heralded a new era for Maserati in 2020, featuring the cutting-edge V6 Nettuno engine.

Each special edition of the MC20 – limited to just 20 units – boasts unique liveries and exclusive features. These design elements draw inspiration from the MC12 Stradale and MC12 GT1 Vitaphone models.

The MC20 Icona's livery pays homage to the 2004 MC12 Stradale, mirroring its distinctive colors. This design itself is a nod to the Maserati Trofeo Light, which competed in the 24 Hours of Daytona and drew inspiration from the Maserati Birdcage Type 61, a legendary model produced between 1959 and 1961.

With these special editions, Maserati continues to honor its racing legacy while pushing the boundaries of automotive innovation.
