Motability have announced, that from the 1st March 2023, they will be paying a New Vehicle Payment of £750 for all cars ordered this year. This is for both renewal and new to scheme customers.
At Hendy, we’re here to support you at every stage of your Motability journey. So we're thrilled that this payment will make your experience even better.
This means if you order a vehicle from any Hendy dealership within 2023 you will be eligible to receive the £750 payment from Motability after you take delivery of your new car.
There are two ways you can receive the New Vehicle Payment. By bank transfer, this depends if you have created a customer account with Motability and added you back details or by cheque if no customer account has been created.
Remember, the New Vehicle Payment is only made once, so you will not receive another payment for your next lease.
If you’re not on the Scheme yet or you’re waiting for your first car, you are eligible for a New Vehicle Payment. You’ll receive your New Vehicle Payment shortly after you get or order your first vehicle on the Scheme (before the end of 2023).
If you already have a car on the Scheme, you’ll become eligible for the New Vehicle Payment when you get your next vehicle. You can only get this payment once, so if you’ve already received the payment for delivery of a previous vehicle, you will not receive another payment for your next lease.
Adding your bank details to your Motability Scheme online account is the quickest way to receive your New Vehicle Payment, as it will be sent by bank transfer within a few days of your new vehicle arriving.
Head to your Motability Scheme account to make sure your banking details are correct before you get your new car, especially if you know your details have changed recently.
If your bank details aren’t on your account, Motability will send you a cheque, which could take up to a couple of weeks to arrive.
If you get your new car after 1st March 2023 (the date from which the payment increased), you’ll get one total payment of £750, which is usually paid within a week or so after getting your new vehicle.
The increase comes as we continue to experience an ongoing global shortage of new cars, which has made them increasingly more expensive to buy.
Motability is a business that doesn’t make shareholder profit, so they can reinvest the money to help customers, such as in the Scheme’s New Vehicle Payment.
Another example is their investment in pricing to keep leases and advance payments as low as possible.
Yes. This extra £500 payment is available to everyone who’s been paid a £250 New Vehicle Payment.
All payments will be sent by 31st March 2023, as long as your bank details were added to your Motability Scheme online account by 28th February 2023 for a bank transfer. Alternatively, they will send a cheque.
If you get your new car or WAV after 1st March 2023 (the date from which the payment increased), you’ll get one total payment of £750, which is usually paid within a week or so after getting your new vehicle.
No. You’re only able to get this payment once.
Yes. If you choose to extend your lease, you’ll get the New Vehicle Payment not long after you get your next car.
To be eligible for the New Vehicle Payment, you must order your first vehicle before the end of 2023. This means that you will receive the payment even if your vehicle doesn’t arrive until 2024 or later.
No. The New Vehicle Payment is separate from the Good Condition Payment. It will not affect if you’re eligible for the Good Condition Payment or the amount you receive, or the End of Contract Payment for scooters and powered wheelchairs.
