2024 – a year to remember
The Nissan Qashqai and Juke went home with 76,872 UK new car buyers, propelling Nissan GB’s 2024 car sales to 100,466. This was a 12.3% increase on 2023 and secured a 5.14% market share, which was up almost half a percent on 2023. The continued popularity of these models has also meant that Nissan’s Sunderland 6,000-strong team have retained their title as the UK’s all-time most successful vehicle manufacturing plant.
As well as celebrating fantastic sales success, Nissan produced upgraded versions of the Qashqai and Juke crossovers, new variants of the X-Trail and ARIYA and revealed the new Insterstar van – available with diesel and all-electric power. And this hardly went under the radar – Nissan were rewarded for their innovation, winning eight trophies across the year that recognised their vehicle strengths and unique technology and powertrains.
Looking to the year ahead
And there’s no slowing down for the prestigious brand. In fact, Nissan are keeping their foot firmly on the pedal as they look to make 2025 truly electrifying to build on their outstanding product line-up to bring customers the most dynamic, exciting and futuristic driving experience. In recent years, Nissan have produced and sent out half a million electrified cars, increasing their numbers to a remarkable 11.5 million cars since its opening in 1986.
Diana Torres, managing director of Nissan GB, expressed her joy in 2024’s progress and spoke optimistically about Nissan’s plans for 2025: “2024 was a challenging year in our industry, so to have secured these results is a testament to the hard work of everyone in our organisation, including our dealer partners, and to the strength of our vehicle line-up. It gives us powerful momentum as we look forward to an exciting year ahead for our brand and, with new cars like the Ariya NISMO arriving imminently, I am confident we have the people, products and partners for success in 2025.”
