Hendy Group is gearing up for the opening of a brand-new Vauxhall and Peugeot dealership in Tonbridge with £1million being invested in the Kent project.

Once complete, the site will offer space for almost 80 new and used vehicles with around 40 colleagues working in sales, service, and support functions.

It will also be the first site in the UK to showcase the new Vauxhall and Peugeot corporate identities for showrooms.

Hendy Group chief executive Paul Hendy said the opening of both brands in Kent was a key milestone for the group, which celebrates its 165th anniversary this year.

Hendy Group already handles Vauxhall in Dorset and Maserati in the south, but these are the first large volume Stellantis dealerships for Hendy in Kent and Paul said the new dealerships are part of a strategic plan for the company and the start of a broader relationship with Stellantis.

“Kent is a traditionally strong area for Hendy Group, and we are looking forward to being part of the Stellantis group here,” said Paul. “This is an exciting move for Hendy Group and reinforces our long-term commitment to the county, investment in our future and providing a high-quality service for motorists across the south.”

The new facility, on the site of the former Cazoo site on Tudeley Lane, is due to open in July and key members of the team are already on site working from temporary showrooms to meet demand from customers.

“We’re looking forward to showcasing these brands from the new showrooms but in the meantime the team is on hand and looking forward to meeting new and existing Peugeot and Vauxhall drivers,” added Paul.
