Spotlight on vehicle health checks with Hendy

As a responsible vehicle owner, you’ll want your car to be in tip-top condition so that you can take to the road with confidence and peace of mind. That’s why a vehicle health check with our expert team at Hendy will give you the assurance you need to travel safely and securely.

Here, our Hendy master technician Chris walks you through the process.

What is a vehicle health check?

As Chris explains in the video, a vehicle health check is a process carried out by car technicians to make sure that all the safety components of your vehicle are in good working order for the road.

Chris can be seen checking the operation of the front and rear lights, washers and wipers. He then goes under the bonnet to check coolant, brake fluid, screen wash and oil levels, while also checking for general wear and tear and any damage to items underneath the bonnet.

In addition to this, the underside of the car is also checked, and the tyres and brakes are checked with reliable gauges to determine tread depth and brake pad thickness respectively. Additionally, the wheels and suspension are also inspected to ensure they’re in good working condition before a final look is carried out to identify any areas of damage or wear and tear.

Why is a vehicle health check important?

No one wants any nasty surprises on the road – and if a vehicle component ceases to work, it can result in a costly repair. It’s important to catch any issues early to make sure that you’re safe and legal on the road and to save you a large repair bill further down the line!

As part of your Hendy vehicle health check, your service advisor will raise any concerns that they have with you to make sure that you’re well-informed about every aspect of your vehicle’s condition.

The legal limit of tyre tread is 1.6mm, but we highly recommend getting your tyres changed before it reaches that level. Remember if you’re caught with worn-out tyres, you can face a penalty fine and three points for each tyre below the legal limit. At Hendy, we will inform you if your tyre tread is 3mm or less, so that you get plenty of warning to change your tyres.

Expert service you can always rely on – that’s Hendy!
