Don’t let the cold catch you off guard! Book your seasonal vehicle health check for a smooth driving experience this winter.
Your well-being is our top priority at Hendy, and we’re here to look after you and your vehicle. Our Winter Health Check will help you prepare for winter driving, ensuring all parts of your vehicle are in prime condition and road-ready.
As part of your Winter Health Check we check and inspect: Vehicle battery, lights, fluid levels (check includes antifreeze content test), wiper blades, windscreen and tyres.
Vehicle battery – We check batteries for their current state of charge, charging rate and for any parasitic drain.*
Lights – A check of all lights is carried out to make sure that they’re all functioning properly.
Fluid levels – We’re on hand to test brake fluid hygroscopicity,** screen wash content and coolant levels, and to top them up if necessary. Please note that additional charges for fluids may be applied.
Wiper blades – Our technicians will ensure that the wiper blades are fully operational and the rubber condition of the blade is suitable and will advise on the next steps as necessary.
Windscreen – Unnoticed chips and cracks can become an expensive problem down the line. Our diligent team will happily check these for you and provide the necessary maintenance.
Tyres – Even though the legal limit of tyre tread depth is 1.6mm,*** here at Hendy, driving safety is our top priority, and we advise our customers to replace their tyres if the tread depth is below 3mm.
Baby, it’s cold outside – but with a thorough Winter Health Check, you can warm up to worry-free winter driving.

Terms and conditions
*Parasitic drain: The continual draw of power from the vehicle battery, even when the vehicle is off, caused by various electrical components. It is normal to have some amount of parasitic drain to keep functions like your car clock and security system maintained. An excessive parasitic drain can be caused by various reasons and therefore lead to a shorter battery life. **Brake fluid hygroscopicity: Brake fluids are hygroscopic, which means that they absorb moisture from the environment. This means that water molecules are absorbed into the brake fluid, which can then cause chemical reactions with other elements in the brake fluid and system. Furthermore, this will increase vapour pressure build-up inside the braking lines under heavy braking, drastically affecting braking performance. ***1.6mm is the legal limit of tyre depth. If caught driving with illegal tyres, you risk a fine of up to £2,500 per tyre and 3 points on your driving licence.
